Cafe Orleans G.O.N.E
« on: July 10, 2011, 07:27:37 PM »
Stopped in at Cafe Orleans, Memorial Blvd, this Friday, 7/8/11 for a burger.  Was desperate for a good burger.
Over-heard the owner telling the next table what they were out of, that this was the last night of business.
I was sorry to hear.  If I had know I would have gotten the muffaletta.  They had a good one.

Is that a rumor from a "good" source ? or just wishful thing?.Don't affect me as I am a cheap SOB who would rather cook and drink Coors Lite at home..

I heard this morning the deal with Applebee's is in the works and that they are waiting for city approval to let them build on top of the holding pond in front of Stage. I'm sure the people in Woodglen Cove will be happy to hear that.

I'd heard the same thing but haven't talked to the Mayor to verify yet.

Wouldn't that location put Applebee's close to a church-just wondering about them being able to sell alcoholic drinks.

Why don't they build close to Holiday Express, there is plenty of room there.  Then the city should give them a permit for a tall sign, that maybe, be seen from the hwy.
